All,
I have been wondering lately if it is time to shut this forum down. I set it up a number of years ago when the 'other' forum was run by Hitlers with an attitude problem and thought there was a need for a more relaxed place. However, of late, things have changed over there and this forum has become quieter and quieter. What do you all think?
Scott.

As a "Newbie" have to admit I've beeb disapointed as to the lack of posts to "bounce" off.
I joined as had found it interesting doing postings on Roger Albert Clark's forum and wanted to expand my opportunities to give and recieve opinions about our sport.
With respect to the other forum having relaxed their attitudes I can't comment as assuming you're on about the British RF I've not been allowed to join. They've something against people with yahoo email addresses hence why I gave this a try.

Hi Scott,
It has got a bit quieter here recently, which is a shame. Is there anyway of making it slightly different to BRF - which most people focus on??
I always point people in the direct of this site as I think it's a good one.
Is there any chance of getting event organisers to post on here like they do on BRF to highlight future events?
Perhaps have a section that allows members to rate events - as a spectator and competitior. Stages types, value for money etc.
A section showing previous routes and stage maps?? Last weekend I was using my Dukeries road book from 2001 to spectate as the stages are still similar.
For single venue events - post stage diagrams. Have direct links to u-tube for in car, and events filming.
A members directory - apart from Geoff I could be standing next to most forum(ers) and wouldn't know how they are or what they look like!! In fairness that is because I don't make the socials!!
Just some thoughts, I know the guidelines would need to be clear to stop it becoming a sl*g off fest for the disenfranchsed.
Hope it does keep going, as I like it, and will make more of an effort to post..life gets in the way sometimes.
Where's Geoff when you need him to brighten things up?

It is one of the reasons i did the UKR championship last year, make the forum a bit more exciting and also meet more members which we did but not as many as we would of liked. I havnt had the time to put the effort in this year.
a couple of years ago me and Geoff were going to isle of mann and offered to see if anyone else wanted to come and MullensWRC came and since then has been one of my best freinds
It is good who you meet through the forum and BRF has done my nut in, you cant post something without someone arguing. I deleted my account a few weeks ago so will be looking to get more involved on this forum again.
I like what sanf says and i also think this forum is easier for advice when starting off.
Mabye a UKrally forum "get together" at a rally is in order, once more and more people meet each other more will be said on the forum

Dont close it, Ukrallying is a very social and friendly forum, in the others you are very likely to get into arguments with people you dont even know!
We need to get all the old faces back in to talk to any new members to keep them here!
Sanf has some very good ideas and I also see where Simon Porter is coming form, I knew most people on here before I joined but can see how hard it must be to post if there aren't really any comments to reply too. Its hard to start a conversation in a room full of strangers.
Maybe launch a new photo competition with a different theme every week, and a caption competition leading on from each winning photo. Thats always a good way of getting people talking!
Definatly dont close!

Hi Scott,
I too have wondered as to the fate of the UK's
friendliest forum recently - it would be a shame to let
it waste away and I do enjoy scrolling through the
archives...
I think there is a place for UKR as it is certainly a lot
"younger" and more social than BRF - and I think Daz'
idea of a forum get together (similar to some of our IoM
and Severn Valley get togethers) is well overdue!
I shall endevour to post more of my non UK news on here
too as I'm sure most people will find that interesting...
and perhaps some forum stickers would be nice too!
So the short answer (because we know how I hate talking!)
is keep it open for now and see how it all looks later
in the year?

Enjoy reading when I get the time which hasn't been much lately Have met most of the guys off here and they are top blokes I suppose I am suffering a bit from not really enjoying rallying in the UK as much these days, can't really put my finger on why but takes a lot of the enthusiasm away. Should put up more of my photos from events abroad though.

Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback. I will leave things as they are for now, the forum doesn't cost me much to run, but it just seems like a waste when it doesn't get used. Perhaps some of the ideas above would be worth some more thought.
Cheers, Scott.
